LION BRAND YARN STUDIO. Call for installation proposals. Ongoing. A new fiber artist is chosen every three months to display work on a 9' high x 10' wide gallery wall. Artists can either feature one large piece or several smaller pieces. During the time the piece is on loan it is fully insured. ART QUILTS XV: NEEDLEPLAY. Call for entries. Entry fee. Juried. Deadline September 3. Art quilt exhibition, to be held at the Chandler Center for the Arts & Vision Gallery, Chandler, AZ, November 5–January 11, 2011. Entries must be original work by no more than two artists per piece and made in the past three years. Submit up to three works. Images submitted as 35 mm slides or minimum 300 dpi JPEG files. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the artist if accepted. Works can be listed for sale. Gallery commission is 50% of the retail price. SAQA NEW FRONTIERS: BEYOND COMFORT. Call for submissions. Application fee. Juried. Deadline October 10. Open to Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) members. To be exhibited at the Festival of Quilts, Birmingham, England, August 2011. Artists are encouraged to explore radically new ideas of technique and narrative. Submissions must be digital images. Entries must fit SAQA’s definition of an art quilt. Up to three works may be entered per artist. Works must be no smaller than 5" and no larger than 60" per side. JENTEL ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAM. Call for applications. Application fee. Deadline January 15. Applications reviewed by a rotating panel of experts. Must be twenty-five years old and residing in the United States to apply. Residents receive private living and work spaces, as well as a stipend. Residencies begin on the 15th of each month and end the 13th of the next. Ten to twenty images of work may be sent in the form of slides, CD or DVD with up to five minutes of time based work.
