LA ROBE DES NATIONS. Call for participation by Canadian artists. Deadline December 15, 2008. As part of the World Week for Cultural Diversity of UNESCO, May 15–22, 2009, artist Carole Simard-Laflamme will present La Robe Des Nations, a monumental installation made of fabric pieces at the Place du Louvre, Paris. The artist is asking for the participation of other artists in order to carry out this project and express the cultural and artistic diversity of Canada. Send her a small piece of clothing no longer used, preferably brightly colored, flowered, striped, or in the traditional fashion of your culture. Mail it in a standard 8½" by 11" envelope and indicate your name, cultural extraction, and discipline. Feel free to write two or three sentences explaining what that particular fabric represents to you. PFAFF ART EMBROIDERY CHALLENGE 2009. Call for entries. Juried. Deadline May 15, 2009.
