Marci’s First Anniversary
Tea Party
This spring Fiberarts Editor Marci Rae McDade gave a gallery tour of
two fiber exhibitions on display at the Museum
of Contemporary Craft (MCC) in Portland, Oregon—Darrel Morris: The Large
Works 1999–2009 and Mandy Greer: Dare alla Luce (Fiberarts April/May
2009). After the talk, guests joined her for a tea party to celebrate her first
anniversary as editor of the magazine, hosted by MCC Curator Namita Gupta Wiggers.
A sumptuous carrot cake was topped with a digitally-printed sugar version of the
Fiberarts April/May 2009 cover which showcases one of Greer’s crocheted
art-to-wear creations.
Thanks to everyone who was able to attend, and for those who couldn’t,
here are a few images and a podcast excerpt from the tour.
